...I've always thought of this as Grandma's Lamp...it sits on Daddy's old RCA Victor Radio Cabinet in our foyer...so if you come for a visit it will likely be the first thing you see...
...but it was actually my Great Grandma's Lamp...or Momaw (I think Mom spells it Maw-Maw) as she was known to us...and she died when I was only three...and I don't really even remember her...mostly from photos...I do remember climbing the cherry tree at their old house...and how scared we were about the well...where a man died of gas poisoning while digging it...
...you can see a picture of the old homeplace here...
...so last weekend...Mom and I went on a search for a photo of the lamp at Grandma's house as I remember it...we didn't really find one...not an old one anyway...this one is of the lamp in its usual corner...and a rather unflattering photo of my 100 year old Grandma...
...we're really pleased to have the lamp in our home now...
...what heirlooms are you treasuring?...
~Wishing you a lovely start to your weekend...

Glad you found a photo of the lamp at Grandmas house! And thanks for posting that link back to your 2008 post, I enjoyed looking at it again. Love, K
ReplyDeleteThe lamp is so lovely and looks very stately on the cabinet. I have a soldiers chest that my grandfather brought back from the Boer War in 1901.
