...of course the Minecraft vest is finished...and one more thing on the Christmas-Gift-To-Do List is checked off...
...the New Girl instructions say to pick up 76 to 92 stitches, inside 1 stitch around the whole neck...which is a pretty big range...and then to knit up 84 to 124 stitches for the arm scye...an even larger range...
...and that's an even bigger difference since they're using K2P2 ribbing...
...if you remember my inspiration piece...I used K2P2 ribbing at the bottom...but the neckline and arm scyes have K1P1 ribbing which is naturally a little bit more snatched...
...anywhoo...it's all finished...and it fits me well...haha...hoping it also fits Our Airman's Wife well...
...for the next thing on the Christmas-Gift-To-Do List...I got a rainbow of colours out of stash...and arranged them in R-O-Y-G-B-I-V order...
...but then I kindof decided that I wanted the center of the motif to be yellow...so I rearranged them in that order...because...
...I still want to make a retro vest for each of the girlies...to hug them up with warmth this winter...
...and...
...I'm combining THREE different-but-very-similar patterns...
...I'm kind of starting with this Retro Granny Crochet Top...and then I'm using this old one from Jack Frost for the sizing...as it's the only one that has actual child sizes...Jack Frost Hippy Dippy and finally I'm planning to use this one Yarnspirations Granny Square Motif Vest just for the final border...
...I started with the center Medallion from the Retro Granny Crochet Top...in yellow...
...and then for the orange...the only 'orange' that I had was this pumpkin coloured yarn...which is also too thin so I'm holding it double...and then with the red you switch from a circle to a square...so it's a bit wonky here...
...and then you just complete the square with regular granny stitches...
...and make a second one for the back...
...front and back of one vest...
...and then I did one more round with black...I plan on buying them each a long sleeved black top to wear under...
...and the only difference between the two will be the blue...aqua on this one and royal on the next one...twinning sister vests...
...what's in your workbasket this week?...
~Have a lovely day!
