...Oh My...where to begin...our little boy is now a teenager...
...the invitations were sent...
...and we started his birthday off as we always do with all his presents stacked at the end of the bed...
...when he was smaller we literally stacked them on the foot of the bed as he wasn't long enough to kick them in his sleep...but now's a different story - they were in the floor at the foot of his bed when he woke up on his birthday...(more on the doll...er...um...I mean 'figure' later)...
...after presents and breakfast his friends started to arrive for the all-day/all-night 13th birthday party...then it started raining...but that didn't stop the fun...
...so inside...I got busy setting up for the party part of the party...
...an unassuming little chocolate birthday cake...don't worry - it gets its own post later...there are 13 layers in there...
...and the sun starts to peek back out...
...so it's time to wash off all the mud...and come inside...oh wait...maybe I did that a little backwards...maybe they should have come inside during the rain...Nah...
...everyone had a hand in the lighting of the candles...
...they boisterously sang Happy Birthday...
...and Scout blew out his candles...
...the aftermath...and then it was back outside for the big event...
...the rental company had called to say that the Bounce House couldn't come because of the rain and wind...
...so we asked if they would bring it later if it cleared up and calmed down...
...and they said yes...needless to say the boys were beyond thrilled...
...I was amazed...
...at how quickly it went up...
...and the boys got to bouncing...
...and flipping...
...and bouncing...
...and being really crazy...
...after the Bounce House left at 8:00...there was still plenty of daylight...so the water balloon fight continued...
...then finally after dark...we got them all settled on their cots...um...NO...what is all that ruckus?...
...Oh...just a pillow fight....
...so finally after midnight...and a movie (MIB 2)...we got them all settled on their cots...
Happy Birthday Scout!
