...Kitchen Update...new floors...

...y'all know how we roll here...
...we go from one project to another lickety split...and for the origin of that phrase go here...fascinating...I love looking up the origins of words and phrases...

...anywhoo...back to the task at hand...

...I had shown you the kitchen floor...mainly because we were so thrilled that there was no asbestos tile underneath the horrid carpet...that was mid-bathroom-project...as that's also the way we roll...we must have some form of ADD that applies to home projects...where we can't quite stay focused on the project at hand...that must be why all 3 (THREE) of our bathrooms are were in some state of remodeling at the same time...but we do have one finished bathroom now...so...YAY!

...so...we lived with the floors like this during the little bathroom project...the Man scrubbed them shiny clean (no small feat)...the carpet had worn groves into the floor that were packed with...I don't quite know what to call it...gunk...if you've ever taken up carpet you probably know what I mean...and...you're welcome...for no photos of said gunk...
...then the walls needed some attention...as the space where we tore...and I do mean TORE...off the glued on plastic baseboard were a mess...
...so we spackled and sanded that smooth...we'll have oak baseboards just like in the living room...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. We tore up carpet in our Up North house to expose the original heart pine floors and I agree about the "gunk" and thank you for NOT showing pictures :D

What are the plans for this room? I love watching you work your way through the house!!

  4. Hard work, all forgotten when it's finished and as smart as paint.

Thank you for the link to meanings of sayings. My Grandma often said 'my nose is running like a soap boiler's bottom' - never found it and never met anyone else who has heard it!
