...the Jr. and Sr. High Youth gathered at Church on Saturday for the Annual Bread Baking Event...
...while the bread was rising...they made adorable little tags...stamped and embossed...
...then they labeled each one with the type of bread and whether or not it had been paid for...
...then they got busy baking...240 loaves of sourdough bread...they slather on butter while it's hot...my loaves are spared this treatment...
...one of our parishioners is a master bread baker and he comes in early in the week and gets all of the sourdough started and stops in each day to stir it down...then on Baking day that's all ready and waiting for the kids to mix in the flour and form the loaves and bake them...
...then obviously there's lots of down time as all the bread cools...
...but once it's cool...they wrap it up...
...bag it, sort it and tag it...
...and while we were waiting on the last loaves to cool...we were treated to an amazing sunset!...
...they made over $1000 on this and they'll spend every last cent of it shopping for their Angel Tree Kids in a couple of weeks...
...and now the really busy season is about to begin...how are you faring?...
~Have a lovely day!
