...3.9....Over the Weekend...

...we woke up to a freshly graded driveway...it really needed it too...so we're thankful for that...

...my morning tea...in the adorable mug the kiddos gave me for Christmas...

...bright and early the Boy Scouts were over at the Church to repaint the lines in the parking lot...it's one of the Scout's Eagle Scout project...reminding me of Our Airman's Eagle Scout project...pretty well documented...here...here...here...and here...haha...

...then I went grocery shopping...we didn't need a lot...
...the Kashi is so I can try and replicate this drink that I had at our local Cuban restaurant...it's called a Batido de Trigo on the menu...they just whizzed water, puffed wheat and sugar into this shake...

...I couldn't find just plain puffed wheat...this is a mixed grain cereal with puffed wheat in it...I'll let you know how it blends up...and I'll probably make it with almond milk...I had it made with water at the restaurant so it would be vegan...of course...

...the only other thing of note...they have the sweet little mandarins...that we called Cuties in North Dakota...so I got a bag of those...
...and when I got home...the Scouts were still working on the parking lot...
...they did such a good job...
...I should have taken a before and after...it makes such a huge difference...
...they even took a flat shovel and removed the turf where it had crept out onto the pavement...

...and while the paint was still wet...the sprinkled sparkles into the wet paint to make it reflective for night-time parking...brilliant...
...then I prepped the collards that I had bought for the instant pot...
...I laid my stems on top...the instant pot is definitely the best way to cook collards...
...I don't even cut them up before I cook them...I just use the kitchen scissors after they are done...and snip them into bite-sized bits...
...so much easier...
...I love the stems so much...they are perfect for snacking...
...just a sweet picture of old Jack-Jack...he was looking at the Man from his blankie...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  1. Looks like a pleasant weekend. That drink just sounds strange....collards would be good right now. The little grocery here has only tomatoes, potatoes and iceberg lettuce fresh. Everything else is canned. Thing a little room 1/4 the size of Davenport's. Will have fresher veggies in a few weeks. Love, K
