Since we took the Man-Cub out of school for a few days at Fair Hills he had to keep up with his school work - when we got back he was actually ahead of the class - they hadn't covered as much as his teachers had sent for him to do...
One of his assignments was to draw a toucan...
...he was so careful and did lots of erasing - but he was so proud of the pencil drawing that he didn't want to cover it with the black oil pastel that the teacher had sent for him to do the assignment (he actually has his own set of oil pastels thanks to his auntie Karen) - they'll be painting these at school...
...here of course is where a truly homeschooled child would get his way - but he did a lovely job with the pastel...

hey, that reminds me of a book i think you gave to richie rich long ago. it's a spiral bound book that details, step-by-step, how to draw lots of things. he's used it thru the years - as recently as the end of his senior year on a english project....fun times! love, k
ReplyDeleteYep - this ones called 'How to draw everything' - haha...
ReplyDeleteOh love the drawing! So talented.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous drawing, well done Man-Cub!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great drawing! He probably likes to study at home some of the time. I know he likes to be at school with his friends, too. E
ReplyDeleteI loved those How To Draw books as a kid! Also loved working ahead in class. Made me feel on top of things, and it made learning easier if I'd already gone over it a bit.
