Sound

The conditions must have been just right for the sound of these two helicopters to travel to us from the East, because for several minutes before they came into view we could hear them clearly. Muffled at first and then louder and louder until they sounded like they were right outside the window and still we couldn't see them...

When they finally came into view and passed over the sound was gone in a couple of seconds.

So today I'm thankful for sound and all the wonder it brings to our lives...

    yes, the sound of helicopters always gets your attention. i think it might be because we are the M*A*S*H generation!!! love, k

    Interesting that you heard them so far ahead of seeing them. We have military helicopters out of AVL and they are sometimes low and loud. E

    Hubby always reminds me it's the sound of freedom (as we have so many miltary copters flying overhead). I'd just growl at him as they always seemed to wake whatever baby/child I'd just put down for a nap. The sound does command your attention I will say that. :-)
