...Bathroom Update...Sink Skirt...

...I did manage to get the sink skirt done last night...it was a pretty simple project...
...I just cut a strip for the band that would go around the sink...
...then I sewed the two 1 yard pieces of cloth together...and gathered across the top...my little trick for adjusting the tension on my sewing machine to create the gathers is explained here...
...then I sewed the ends of the band and added a buttonhole to each end...
...then I pinned the gathered piece in the middle of the band...you could probably also lay both sides of the band...right sides together and sew it that way too...but my material is pretty thick so I sandwiched mine...
...then I just topstitched through both layers of the band and the gathered piece as well...see just a very few seams on this project...
...pressed everything nice and flat...
...opened up the buttonholes with a seam ripper...
...taped the unhemmed skirt around the sink so I could measure for the hem...

...a couple of things I didn't photograph...were the stick on velcro pieces on the sink...and stitching the velcro to the inside of the band...

...but all in all this was quite an easy project...
...this will be the final update on the littlest room in the house...because it is well and truly finished...whew!!!

~Have a lovely weekend!
