...the Eagle Scout Project...not Scout's...

...Saturday we all headed to the local Nature Preserve for one of our scout's Eagle Project...

...it was a pretty chilly morning...
...the plan was to do some maintenance on this trail...
...there was still some damage from last year's derecho...
...and they were also going to build some new picnic tables...seen here unassembled in the truck...
...so everyone got their marching orders...
...and gathered their tools...
...and headed up the trail...
...after a few hours work...everyone paused...
...for a picnic lunch...
...and then headed further back up the trail...
...to finish the project...
...the tables were situated in a nice spot overlooking the creek...we can't wait to come back in the summer...
...just some interesting things we saw on the way to the forest...this old house being moved...a sight we often saw in North Dakota with the rising lake claiming so many homes...but we hadn't seen here...
...and this old log cabin...I'd love to go inside...
...and then this little (two grave) cemetary...right on the side of the road...

...Scout is looking forward to doing his own Eagle Project over the next couple of years...he still hasn't decided what his project will be yet...but it's good to help other scouts with theirs...

...remember this little guy helping one of the scouts in North Dakota with his Eagle Project...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!...

  2. How really very interesting. We saw a house being moved in New Zealand back in 1971! Fascinating sight.

I would love to know the story behind that tiny graveyard.
