...Exploring West Virginia...the Craik-Patton House...Six...

...this house even had a guest room at the back...
...some glasses...books...and snuff boxes...on a marble topped side table...
...a carved wooden chair by the bed...
...a 13 patch quilt on the bed...a diagonal variation of the simple nine-patch...
...a closeup...you can see the nine-patch in the center...with an extra square sewn top and bottom and then the triangles on the sides...
...a cut-away section of the wall showing the old lathe...
...another fireplace...there's one in every room...this one also has a clock...
...I was trying to show you the wavy glass panes in the windows...but we'd just had a heavy rain and the windows sort of steamed up...
...another pretty sampler...
"Let the sweet work of Prayer and Praise
Employ my youngest breath
Thus I am prepared for longer days
Or fit for early death

...it seems a bit dark to us nowadays...but I guess death was ever present...
...and another closeup of the wallpaper...

~Have a lovely day!
