...Tuesdays with Julia...

We made Julia's Custard Apple Tart...which she says is 'to be served hot'...

...which was perfect because it was bitterly cold here... we woke up to 7 degrees...temperatures that low are not very common here...
...it was very pretty...
...and with some hot tea...it made a perfect winter dessert...
...all of the particulars are over at The Vegan Version...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. Looks perfect for a cold day. I don't have any ready made pie crust so it will take me awhile to put this together. Our temperature is down to minus 7 tonight and minus 5 tomorrow night so this one may be on my menu ;-)

  2. I love apple pie, a staple in my childhood was fruit pie. My very favourite was my Aunty Margaret's rhubarb and date. The rhubarb was from the garden and the dates came squashed into a block and were very cheap. They were eaten with custard made from custard powder which is cornflour with yellow colour and flavourings and milk.
