...Undecorating...and the traditional New Years Dinner...

...so...yesterday I got a big pot of Black-eyed Peas soaking...
...then started them cooking this morning...
...then we spent the majority of the day taking down and putting away...
...the space where the tree was...not too bad really as this poor tree didn't get regular watering with all of our trips home...
...but just about the time we were finished un-decorating...the Black-eyed Peas were done...
...and we had a late lunch of Black-eyed Peas, Greens and Cornbread...traditional New Years Day fare...which we also missed this year...not sure if we'll get the superstitious benefits...
...and we had plenty of Black-eyed Peas leftover to freeze for later...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your weekend...

  1. taking down the decorations really does feel like a "fresh start" to the new year, doesn't it?

we didn't get anywhere near the snow that was forecast for us - how about you guys? we shave a coating of ice then about an inch of snow on top of that. just enough to be really a pain until it gets warm on Tuesday!!

    stay warm! love, k
