...we woke up to no power...our power company had to resort to rolling blackouts...so we spent about 3 hours without on Saturday morning...we were fine even though the outside temperature was about 11 degrees (-12° C)...we used Grandmas hand grinder to grind some coffee and set up Our Airman's Primus stove on the back porch and had a delicious warm cup of coffee...
...I did not shop...for one thing (HA) it's Christmas Eve...and for another thing...we're leaving for Japan next week...
...the landscapers finished up the new landscaping at the Church...I snapped a photo while I was riding my NEW BIKE...I was really well bundled and muffled...but the temperature never reached 20°...
..the kiddo's sweet Christmas card from Japan...they are such a beautiful family...and the footprints made into a tree and a reindeer are so cute...while I was FaceTiming with Big Sissie I told her that I loved her Christmas Tree that she sent me...and she said...that's not a Christmas Tree Grandmommy...it's my foot...hahahaha...
...Christmas morning...no Sunday School...so we had time for applesauce/spice mini muffins...
...so delicious...
...PRESENT time...let's start with the Bike themed ones...
...new black gloves...they're padded bike gloves...but the tops are crocheted...so perfect for me...I love them...
...a rechargeable flashing taillight...it's magnetic...so you just pop it off and plug it in...
...and I really needed a new helmet...
...and I absolutely love this thousand one...it's perfect...so glad the Man ordered a size large...
...so I tried them on still in my jammies...I love them...
...and a few non-bike-related pressies too...new jammies for the trip to Japan...the bottoms are satin...a creamy yellow...and the top is like a t-shirt and says "Good Dreams Only"...
...we actually weren't supposed to be giving each other gifts...the Japan trip was supposed to be our Christmas present to each other...haha....I guess we can't help ourselves...the Man got presents too...not as many as me though...just so you know who the generous one is around here...
...a really cute 3/4 length sleeve open front cardigan...the Man hates my cardigans...so I guess he liked this one better...
...a new sketchbook for my drawings...it has a clear pocket on the front so you can 'display' your latest work...probably won't be taking advantage of that...and a set of ear buds...I have the wired kind now for my phone and I keep it in the basket of my bicycle...so these will be a whole lot more convenient and less tethered...I often call people while I'm riding...right Mom...and Karen...and bros...and Amy...I'm very chatty while I'm riding...haha...
...Christmas dinner was all the Man's creations...some delicious sort of sautéed mushrooms that he made into a sauce...
...grilled onions atop sautéed seitan steaks...mashed potatoes, peas and a salad...
...it really was a perfect Christmas dinner...I loved every bite...
...and finally a pic of the new cardi...I like it a lot...it'll be perfect for Okinawa...their January weather is milder than ours...way way milder right now...it's about 16° here...
...and I've been wearing
my old Amity sweater/vest from 2011...I shrunk it in the dryer years ago...so now it's a pretty cozy little vest...it's snug and hugs you warmly...
