...we got up early and headed out to the backyard to put out the mulch there...we don't use pine straw in the backyard...and wouldn't choose it for the front yard...but it's what all the neighbors have and we don't want to stand out as different...
...and we changed our schedule around a little bit because we were supposed to get some thunderstorms...and we did get them and about 2 inches of rain...so thankful for the new windows...we didn't have to stay up all night changing towels out in the windowsills...YAY!
...but we got all of the dark brown mulch put out around all of the flowers and bushes in the backyard...and I started weeding the sedum along the drivewal...I'm only going to weed around one plant a day as I find it difficult to sit there on the concrete and pull up tiny little weeds in the gravel which have embedded themselves into the landscape fabric under the pepples...
...everything looks so nice and fresh and green now...
...then we came in and had a quick breakfast...a plain bagel with vegan Violife cream cheese a sprinkle of everything bagel and a couple of slices of baked tofu...and a big mug of sweet and creamy coffee...
...then we headed out for the weekly shopping trip...
...nothing of note and the stores were still pretty well stocked...we didn't do any panic buying but we did get a few things to toss into a tote...just in case...we're not going crazy or becoming preppers or anything but we did get a 48 pack of T.P. ...haha...it'll probably last us a year...
...when we got home from that...it had just started to rain...and I ran out and pulled up our square foot of carrots...it only took about a minute...
...they're small...but look how pretty...
...I can't wait to make a nice dish of colourful oven roasted carrots...
...and then Sunday afternoon...this little guy came into the backyard for a visit...he was pretty terrified to find himself there though...
...and we opened the gate and gently herded him back out front...because we've seen his mama out there...
...and then we celebrated Cinco de Mayo a day early...they were already setting up the tents outside of our favorite Mexican restaurant...and our server said it would be crazy tomorrow...(today)...
...and today's updated previous post...3.24...Over the Weekend...
