...5.2...Friday Update...

...we finally got the final 5 windows updated...these were all some sort of horribly inefficient and leaking plastic tiles...

...20 years old...and you know how plastic 'weathers'...on the outside they were very cloudy looking...

...and now we have beautiful new Anderson windows...they match the ones we had installed last year...but these all have privacy glass...

...they tried to mimic the grid pattern of the old tiles as much as possible...but that grid is between two panes of glass...and the one on the inside is a privacy glass that has a raindrop pattern to it...and the outside is completely smooth...so it'll be much easier to keep clean...

...and this is the inside of the big window in the stairwell...when they removed the old tile blocks it completely fell apart...and as it was 10X10...there were 100 little tiles to pick up in the yard...

...we love the new windows so much...

...we hemmed and hawed...and finally decided to add the plantation blinds back just to this stairwell window as it's in the big room that has plantation blinds on all of the windows...but we don't need it anymore for light or heat/cold reduction as the windows block 95% of UV and are super energy efficient...

...and we had a little bit of touch-up to do where the window had leaked onto the wall paint...we'd gotten Sherwin Williams to match the 20 year old paint in this room as we are nowhere near ready to tackle this one with a new coat of paint...

...so we won't be putting shades on the other windows...this is the hallway bathroom...
