A New Backyard

Apparently, in addition to the new sidewalk - we'll also be getting a new backyard......they're hauling in load...
...after load...
...after load...
...of good rich topsoil from a nearby school construction site...
...someone on Church Council thought it would be a good idea to fill in the backyard...
...and maybe before the new soil becomes too alkaline get some trees to grow for a shelterbelt...
...sadly my little garden will go under - but that just means I can make a bigger one further out when they're done - so I'm pretty happy about that...

...they'll be working on this for several days - I'll keep you updated...

i have a boy who would love to watch this go on!

when he was really little they replaced the whole sewer and and street in front of our house - he watched for hours and hours day in and day out. we were probably the only ones on our street who were sad when the construction was done. :)

That should be very good for next year's grass and garden. I remember the lines of trees surrounding houses there on the windy side, I guess. Trees will add shade, too. MOM

Wow! All that dirt would be awesome! :) Can they detour down here? just kidding. A shelter belt would be so nice to block that cold wind!
