...Saving Cilantro and a Curry Leaves fail......

...I really think it's funny (amazing) how often my sweet sissie and I are doing the same things at about the same time...without communicating about it at all...

...she posted about saving cilantro Sunday...and here I am posting about it today...isn't that funny...

...I usually dry my cilantro for long term storage...but I'm going to freeze this bunch...
...but while I was at the Asian store I also picked up a bunch of green curry leaves...I've seen them in Indian recipes but I've never had any before...
...and then I noticed that they still had their roots and those little hairs on them...
...so I thought I'd try rooting them...and just tucked them around my Amarillys that Grandma gave me for Christmas...
...but sadly...the next morning they were looking rather wilty...so that was a fail...

...I've re-rooted lettuce...and watercress...and I may (probably) try this again if I get a really fresh looking bunch of curry leaves...

...what have you re-rooted lately?...

~Have a lovely day!

  1. that is weird how we're less than 100 miles apart and doing the same stuff....maybe we're twins born two years apart. we'll have to ask Mom how that worked, haha.

your "fail" with the curly leaves is cute and sad at the same time!

    love,k

  2. i wonder if you would have put your curry leaves in a vase or jar of water for a few days first if that would have helped? just a thought.

  3. A couple of bunches of spray carnations had lots of shoots on them which are in a pot on the windowsill.

I use dry curry leaves but I'm not sure they actually add anything to the party!
