...6.7...Over the Weekend...

...I got up super duper early and just made coffee and left to get the shopping done...

...just a pretty standard shop...I did get a watermelon though...the first of the year...so I'm not really too hopeful that it will be awesome...but still...watermelon...YAY!...

...and those two packets of sanitizing hand wipes were a freebie when I walked into Food Lion...the manager had a cartful and was handing them out...for free...so I guess it's good to get there early...it was like winning the lottery...haha...

...and the reason I had to be done so early...was that I was meeting my dear friend Amy for a full day of visiting and antiquing...which we have not done for a year and a half...but now that we're both fully vaccinated and shops are open again...we needed to get together...

...now...I keep a Goodwill/Antique Store list...you know...just so I don't just buy things we don't need willy-nilly...
...and I had broken my 20+ year old glass pyrex measuring cup a couple of weeks ago...so that was on the list...and I wanted another white egg cup...for serving the vegan egg dipping sauce instyle...so I found two things on my list...
...and at a different antique store...I found this unopened NIB weaving loom...I'm going to put that up for our granddaughters when they're a little bit older...and I found this pan for the Man...I'm going to clean it up and give it to him for his birthday...
...it seems to be good quality...and it says Permalum 2000 on the bottom - it's an Australian hard anodized aluminum cookware...hopefully it will clean up well...
...and you can't beat that price...$1.95 for the cookware...and $1.49 for the little loom...and then 20% off of that...

...Amy and I had planned on going to four antique malls...and we did...one was completely closed - and completely empty...and another one in the process of closing...so everything there was 20% off...I guess the pandemic has been especially hard on antique stores...
...and we had planned on having Thai for lunch...but when we got the restaurant...the same one as before...it was closed...

...but we wandered up the street looking for another place...and chanced upon this brand new VEGAN (they say plant-based) restaurant...and their little one was asleep on the rug...so sweet..
...Amy and I both got this delicious kale, avocado and sundried tomato wrap...which we ate outside...this little shop doesn't even have seating...
...and a peach pie smoothie...it was so delicious...and I was starving as I'd only had coffee for breakfast...
...and we shared this slice of vegan strawberry cheesecake...it was all SO delicious...definitely going back there...
...when I got home...it was threatening to storm...and the tree guys were packing up...
...so this is the chaos that is out backyard...the big tree inside the fence is still standing and the fence is still down...
...the other two scalped trees are putting out new growth...but somehow look otherwordly...so weird...
...and the huge tree that was doing the most damage to the septic and foundation is down...
...so sad really to see it go...
...I had the Man snap a photo of me (goofy of course - because that's the only kind of photos I can take apparently) on the stump for some scale...and you can see my cute floral leggings with the purple top my sweet sissie gave me...
...we cut the watermelon...and it was a surprise because it was pretty delicious...
...and then I was rummaging around in the fabric stash in the basement for an upcoming little project...and I found this old puppy sweater/shirt thingy of Jack's...and it was too tight for him...it's from his younger days in North Dakota...
...so I just real quickly split it down the center...and added a strip of stretchy black fabric from the stash...
...and now Jack can wear his littel Top Dog shirt again...
...he was looking at me right before I snapped this photo...haha...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

    1. Hi Éphée,
...we absolutely loved this restaurant...and apparently in addition to the few things actually on the menu...they do creative daily specials...they do have sort of limited hours too...but I'm happy to support them...
      ~Have a lovely day!

  2. Now I've looked at that first photo a couple of times now and I don't see any hand wipes. I believe you though!! Glad you had a good time with Amy. And those trees are just amazing. It's gonna be so weird to see your back yard without them. And sure, I also believe Jack Jack was looking at you. Love, K

    1. Hey K,
...that's funny...I should have pointed out they the wipes (Tazza brand - I've never heard of them) are just to the right of the Silk on the back row...and yeah...I'm not loving the backyard anymore at all...
      Love,
      T

  3. now that is a big tree stump!!! I can't go thrifting because of our move and I"m trying to get rid of as much as possible unwanted items. But I do love to find a good find.
