That would be today...
This year's focus country is Cameroon...
...and I photographed the recipe pages from the brochure - I left them large so you can click on them and read them...the starred items are the ones we'll be serving...
...I think we'll try vegan versions of all of these - Scout thought the peanut soup sounded good and I want to try the bitter greens - they say to use collards - and Zom the spinach pot - with some beefy seitan of course.
This is our Fellowship hall all decked out for the festivities - and we have a real live Cameroonian coming to talk to the group...
...All of us ladies, brought things from Africa...
...wooden sculptures...
...and brightly coloured cloth to decorate the tables...
...One lady was even making a quilt out of some fabric a missionary friend had brought her from Africa...

ReplyDeletehave fun! love, k
The Fellowship Hall looks great. It is wonderful you are holding such an event for the World Day of Prayer. I pray the congregation will be inspired to greater world missions by this event you are hosting.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely time. It all looks very much the product of hard work and love.
ReplyDeleteI had a doctor who left his practise to go to the Camaroons as a missionary. He spent a year learning French.
I have eaten plantain - it looks like a very big banana but not tastes like - I had it fried and it was very nice.
That is very interesting. I must admit I have never heard of the Camaroons. I will try to find out something about them. Table looks very African. MOM
