The Back to School Tradition
...we have always had the little family tradition of having a few little gifties for Scout when he gets home from his first day of school...
...nothing extravagant - this year just some clothes and a minnow net...
...and a book - it's the final book in the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins - not my kind of book at all - but Scout really liked the first two - it's young adult Sci-Fi and y'all know I'm not a big Sci-Fi fan...
...What's your 'Back to School' Tradition?...

What a sweet tradition! You are inspiring some ideas for my family. We don't have any as yet, but now is a great time to start. I have a few more days to come up with something fun. Be well, Angela (Peach Coglo)
ReplyDeleteWe stop for donuts and eat them inside the shop so we can talk about the day. I gave Sara a tiny elephant her first day of preschool, and Kelly got a Sleeping Beauty tiara today (her first non-hand-me-down tiara!). Then we go home to cuddle! I miss them!
ReplyDeleteWe never had one apart from the nice dinner and how did it go. I think to have a celebration at such times is good, I wish we had thought of it.
ReplyDeleteI like the minnow net - we used to call them 'tiddlers'. My friend had a tank that she filled with weed and water out of the stream along with stones and sand, also from the stream, at the bottom of the tank. She caught some tiddlers and kept them in the tank. They lived and had babies for ages, a perfect ecosystem.
I have a real thing for fish. To live in water, such lovely creatures.
That is so sweet! Every year, my mom used to take a picture of me standing on our porch with my new backpack before leaving for the bus stop : )
ReplyDeleteWe don't have one yet, but I love yours!
ReplyDeleteI hope his first day went well!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the second book in the Hunger Games series and loving it.
