...Y'all know how every year the Church budgets a certain amount of money for Parsonage Maintenance...
...it's for emergency repairs but also for improvements...
...we have a wooden basement - which was an entirely new concept for us - as all the basements I had any experience of were concrete...
...the sextons discovered that the outer covering of exterior grade plywood was at risk of allowing water to get to the underlayment...

...so they decided to cover it with this fake brick...
...so they added strips and made everything perfectly plumb and level (we have a couple of perfectionists on the team - and that's a good thing)...
...so all the wood is now covered up with fake (and waterproof) brick now...
...we are so blessed to be able to live in such a nice and well maintained parsonage...
Oh wow, wood?! I have never heard of wooden basements either. Congrats on getting the improvements done!
ReplyDeleteoo! nice! We NEED to do something like that as well... except that our entire basement/foundation needs to be re-done.
ReplyDeleteHouses are interesting. We have houses built in the 13th century - no foundations and dirt floors. Often discovered when people start renovations after generations of the original house being built over.
ReplyDeleteWhy no-one has ever noticed the lack of foundations beats me, but svenhundred years later, there they are!
Yet, houses built just fifty years ago...........
Watching a spooky film at the mo! Whew, the ads. Time to get a cuppa.
