...I had to drop some of Scout's gently used clothes off at the local charity thrift store...
...and in the process - I almost always find a treasure to bring home...
...this time it was this lovely turquoise pyrex bowl - I love it's translucence - and it's exactly the shade of chalky blue that I want to paint the front door - I can't seem to convince the Man that the door needs to be this colour....hmmmm...

Perfect blue!
ReplyDeleteMen, tricky chaps! I've learned that if I go ahead and do something/buy something, he thinks it's splendid.
ReplyDeleteAsk him what he thinks about something - just hums and haws!
That's a beautiful blue. It reminds me of robin egg shells I used to see when I was a child though your bowl looks more translucent :-)
ReplyDeleteI remember my Mom having some Pyrex bowls like this, and I'm trying to remember the colors, but all I can remember is yellow for the biggest one, then the next size down was green, then the next size down was red, but can't remember the last one - maybe dark blue? But I love the color of yours. I've thought about painting some of my older furniture that robin egg blue - it's such a pretty color, and would go well with the cabin, dontcha think?! LOL Thanks for sharing your treasure with us all today. Take care, from central KY.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I live right next door to the thrift store now! I have been making myself wait to stop by until after my husband got his first pay check. He got it! I'll be heading there soon!
ReplyDeleteI love old Pyrex stuff. We have an old set of mushroom print bowls that belonged to my MIL, and we actually use the old green and white daisy print stuff from the 70s as our daily dishes. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat find!

ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE it! Perfect shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteNothing beats that satisfaction of finding something for next to nothing. Great find!
Loooooove vintage Pyrex!
ReplyDeleteThis bowl just screams for a delicious spotted dick pudding, served with custard.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll make one for Thursday, himself is away on his little boat, sailing in the Solent. Nice surprise for Thursday dinner.
My pudding bowl is clear pyrex. This is a little beauty!
Such a calming, soft blue shade.
ReplyDeleteLovely find!
Great find. I always snatch up anything vintage in turquoise!
ReplyDeleteIt is my goal to one day have enough of these wonderful old bowls to display them on an entire wall in my kitchen. Great find!
