...wanna know what's the very last thing I did before I locked the parsonage and left the keys at the church...
...I took a picture of the wall where we marked Scout's growth through the years that we lived here...
...Oh my...how he's grown...

Oh wow. Glad that you got a picture of it!
ReplyDeleteThere are some things that will always bring a lump to the throat - that will always be hard to leave behind.
ReplyDeleteYou made me cry. The last thing I did when we left our first parsonage was to run back in after the kids were buckled into the car. I stood in the living room looking around, "seeing" all the years of laughter and growing and family, and just bawled like a baby. Then, I mopped up my face and headed on to the next chapter of our lives.
ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to read the next chapter of your's.
Oh my goodness, I really just teared up... That is so hard!!
ReplyDeleteaww, so sweet. yeah, i did that right before i slapped a fresh coat of paint over the boys' door frames. after they both moved out, that is!
ReplyDeletestay dry! (and enjoy the 60 degrees tomorrow!) love, k
Aw, wow! I feel bad that I never did this with my kids - we always marked our height on my grandmother's door. We just never thought we would live in this house very long, and yet here we are, still here. I think it's time to start marking the doorway :)
ReplyDeleteWith that photo, you could transfer that to a closet in WV. Just saying. MOM
