...10.19...Dinner and a Movie...

...I used the little crinkle cut gadget to make some crinkle cut fries...
...first cooking...
...the secret to really crispy homemade french fries is to partially cook them...
...and then let them cool...I know this may sound counter-intuitive...as they look all limp and soggy at this stage...
...but the magic happens when you fry them a second time...
...and then they get all crispy and golden and delicious and fluffy on the inside...
...I made some vegan coleslaw...and sliced up some crudites...but I ate most of those while we were cooking...
...we had our crispy fries with vegan 'fish' (a thick slice of tofu wrapped in nori and baked...leftover Harvard beets and collards too...it was delicious...

...and the 'movie' was a new to us British TV detective...Wild Bill with Rob Lowe an American actor...playing a detective in East Lincolnshire...

...we thought it was pretty good...by that I mean that it was not too gruesome...and you could actually follow the 'case' and figure some things out...some detective shows that we watch always keep something from you, that if you knew it you would be able to 'solve' the crime too...and...like most of these detective programs there is always some animosity between the Police on the ground and the upper cadre...which one would hope does not really exist so pervasively in real life...

...what have you been watching lately?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Those french fries look fabulous! We're still watching The Wire and will be for some time I suppose since there are 5 seasons.
