...the last of the tomatoes...

...of course it was also the last of the tomatoes...

...the ones with the orange tint will probably still ripen...
...but I'm thinking there's going to be a big batch of fried green tomatoes in my future...

We finished up our tomatoes a while ago. But my Grandma brought a few from down South, so we are still enjoying a few more tomato sandwiches this year. :)

There is nothing as tasty as a homegrown tomato! Yum. I've never tried fried green tomatoes, but I really want to!

We have a couple of bowls of green tomatoes in our kitchen too. Had to rescue them before the frosts set in.

we live in a flat, so our toms are happily ensconced on our windowsill at the moment, but i think it's too late for the small green ones.

still, green tomatoes make great salsa and they're a lovely addition to tomato sauces - they add a vibrant tartness.
