Signs of Fall...

Y'all know that fall is my FAVORITE time of the year - specifically - I don't know why - but, here are a few of the reasons - the smell of leaves and woodsmoke - the coming in - the warmth of home - the colours, orange/gold/red/brown - the crisp mornings - pumpkin pie and russian tea - wearing sweaters - and knitting them...OK maybe I do know why...

  1. I think we like Fall for some of the same reasons. I love the light, the air smells; it's beautiful! Oh and I bragged about your beautiful stitch markers today. I just love them! Peace, Angela

  2. I also like Fall - the Indian Summer days of when it gets into the mid-70s during the day, and down to the 50s at night and good sleeping weather with the windows open, and listening to the crickets. I also enjoy the many colors of the trees, and wearing a t-shirt under a flannel shirt, and being right at the perfect temperature for being outside. So many other reasons, too, like the rest of you. Thanks for sharing your reasons for liking Fall. Take care, from central KY - and thanks for stopping by and looking at my new (old) chair, and leaving a comment.

  3. I have a list like that for the start of each season. The beginning of each one is my favorite of the year. :)

  4. I passed the harvested fields this morning, and it was nearly 80 degrees, supposed to hit over 90 today. UGH. It's FALL. Someone should tell the Universe.

  5. There are lots of things I like about Autumn - as Kathy says, good sleeping weather.

I lived in New Zealand for a few years and loved that my birthday was in the Spring - here it is in Autumn, somehow not so nice.

  6. I love fall too! Our grocery store finally started stocking canned pumpkin, so I grabbed a few cans and am looking forward to pumpkin bread, muffins, pancakes...

Oh and I love that you said "ya'll". :)

  7. Autumn is hands down my favorite time of the year. Despite the fact that things are shriveling up and turning brown and critters are readying themselves for a long sleep, I look at it as a fresh start... not sure why.

The boy's b-day is in Nov. too so that makes it all the more fun!

  8. I was having a conversation along these lines with my daughter yesterday (the day of your post). Our reason was that we liked the warm, bright days but with just a touch of coolness to them. Lovely time of year.

  9. Mmmm, I love the scent of the crisp autumn air. Equally delightful are the falling leaves of vibrant colors. Haven't seen much of that around here yet (NC), though. Hopefully soon!

Lovely blog, Teresa! Thanks for visiting home sweet mamma!

  10. I always saw fall as the death of summer, truly me favorite time of year, but I do have to say it has grown on me lots. I now kind of like the change of season a bit more. My mom has always loved fall though so it reminds me of her now.
