Jungle Jack's Landing...

...In addition to the Zoombezi Bay water park attached to the zoo...which sadly Scout could not partake of because of his injured foot...

...there was also a fair-like amusement park called Jungle Jack's Landing...and with the purchase of a wristband...you could ride all the rides as many times as you wanted...

...but we had to get all sugared up before we rode any rides...so first Scout sampled some 'fair food'...the Fried Oreos...just what it sounds like...Oreos dipped in batter and deep fried...oh...and then sprinkled with powdered sugar...

...and the first ride was a spinny one...Scout loved this airplane ride as the rudder actually works and changes the direction of the plane...

...next we spent some time...'just swingin'...

...then on to the log flume...not my photo...

...Scout asked if he could get back in line to ride again...so I let him go by himself...and guess what...there was a terrible wrenching sound and something major broke and shut down the ride...everyone who was out at the time had to be 'evacuated'...such an adventure!...

...then Scout had his first bumber car experience...I've never liked bumber cars...somehow they seem sort of 'mean' to me...but Scout loved it...and everyone had on the floor had big smiles on their faces too...I figure maybe it's a 'guy thing' 'cause the Man always liked the bumber cars too...

...and finally...they even had an old timey wooden roller coaster...it was such fun!

  3. The battered, deep fried Oreos reminds me of the Scottish deep fried Mars Bars.

Mars Bars are a lovely chocolate bar, square in shape with layers of toffee, mousse and chocolate round the outside. They are dipped in batter, deep fried and much enjoyed by many!

  4. I've had deep fried oreos before...so delicious, but so disgustingly rich and filling. Like all fair food I guess.

It looks like you guys had fun.
