Wonder Twin Powers - Activate

...Thank y'all so much for putting up with all of the camping talk and photos - I love sharing part of our life here with you...

...so what do you think I did as soon as I got home...
........well, obviously, I couldn't wait to package up the sweaters and get them off to my sister...

...first, though, I wanted to try and fix the old grey sweater and at least make it wearable again...
........so I re-knit - like picking up dropped stitches - all of the places that had come unraveled, and tied the ends and wove those in...

...then I took some grey sewing thread and went around all of the edges to reinforce them a little bit - like you sometimes add a thread to the heel of a sock while you're knitting it...
........here's hoping she'll love the new one as much as the old one...

  2. The vest looks great. And that was nice of you to repair the old one. I know when I recently did my first large afghan, I couldn't wait to get it in the mail to my Mom who is in a nursing home. I was just so happy that she liked it. I know Karen will love the vest, and appreciate all of the work your hands did with it. Take care, Teresa - from KY.

  3. I see she is anxious for both her sweaters. Bet she wears the old one a lot, too. So nice of you to fix it. I think the new one is even prettier than the other. MOM

  7. First I love the wonder twins and their activation powers...I have a necklace to prove it...

Second, how cool is it that you fixed the first sweater and sent both on back to your sis?!?!?

  9. I am extremely jealous of your knitting abilities. I'm still in the horrid-scarf-with-directions-from-youtube phase. I did try to branch out and attempt a hat. I have yet to meet the gigantic head upon whom it would fit, however . . .
