Thank You!

Do you send out written Thank You notes?

...do your children send out written Thank You notes?

...for some reason Thank You notes have become a bit passé - and I think they are still important - especially for children - it gives them pause to think about the giver and remember them and how special they are to that person - that they would take the time, effort and money to buy them a gift - just for them...

...so Scout designed his card and made those up assembly line style - a fun little project in itself - then he got his list of gifts and I got mine and we wrote our little notes - nothing elaborate - just a sincere little note of appreciation and thanks...

  2. Pretty notes, you are so nice to send them. Most people rely on a spoken thank you or an email now. Notes are special. MOM

  3. I still write thank you notes too, and sometimes I feel like the only person left that does! Mr. M's mom thinks it is so sweet and she always writes me a thank you note back.. haha.

I'm glad you're instilling that value in Scout!

  6. Yes we do, although probably not as often as we should, just birthdays and Christmas! I think letter writing generally is becoming a lost art, and its a nice tradition to keep!

  8. We do send out thank you notes on occasion - though less so now.

I really enjoy getting a letter or handwritten note in the mail.

We do write thank you notes, though sometimes it's a bit of a delay between the receipt of the gift (usually money) and the written note. My children know that they won't be able to spend the money until they've written the note. After all, if they can't be bothered to thank their grandparents, I don't see why they should expect any more gifts.
