The Wolf Moon

I hope y'all didn't miss the biggest and brightest full moon of 2010 last night...

We were out walking Jack right at twighlight so we didn't get to see it right on the horizon (well, we saw it but didn't get a picture of it) but snapped a few pictures as soon as we got home...

It's lovely and so peaceful looking at the moon...

  1. That is a great picture. We were getting our 13 inches of snow overnight so not much moon showing. All's well here. Everyone made it home and we still have power. MOM

  2. yeah, that is a pretty picture. we are still getting a little snow - about 6" and alot of it is sleet. i don't think it's the "build a snowman" kind of snow. richard and miranda are already gone 4-wheeling in the 4Runner. fun fun once in a while!

    love, k

  3. The moon is quite magical. When we lived in Wellington, New Zealand, the moon would rise behind the hills on the other side of the harbour. It was immense and not what we were used to here in the UK.

Wellington is the most beautiful city I have ever seen.

My grandmother told me that all the dust came from the moon. She believed - and so did I - that the moon was feet thick in dust.

It would have been churlish to ask how it got from there to here - even if I had thought about it.

  4. Oh you pics are lovely. I didn't know there was some special new moon. I took a photo of it the night before. My camera isn't too good at night pics. Come over and have a look.

  5. beautiful photos!

When we watch movies, if the moon is in the film Peter always tries to see if it is the northern or southern hemisphere view :)
It does look different though...not sure how, but it does!
