...did you know that today is not only Halloween?...
...It's also Reformation Day!...and the 500th anniversary...so...it's a pretty big deal in the Lutheran world...
...we celebrated Sunday with a High Church processional service...
...and the 95 Theses were nailed to the Church Doors...
...then later in the afternoon...there was a community service for about 17 Lutheran Churches in our area...
...it was a beautiful Church...
...and a beautiful service...

I didn't know that October 31st was also Reformation Day. That is wonderful news! The church looks very beautiful with all the stained glass.
ReplyDeletethat Luther guy was a real thinker!
ReplyDeletelove, k
On television here there have been a lot of documentaries and programmes about Luther and the English martyrs. Also a lot about the William Tyndale bible in the English language which caused such a stir and ended with so many people burned at the stake.
ReplyDeleteThere is on television a German drama which is called 'Reformation' about Luther. Also a drama about Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspiritors who wanted to return the country to Catholicism, not likely to happen after forty years of protestantism with Elizabeth I and a protestant king in James I! True to the times it is so gruesome I fast forwarded through those bits.
And you taught me something new today! Thanks.
