Cassie's latest swap was a Poetry Swap (at Vegan Fox in the Snow)...
...what I got...
...It's from the lovely Rose at Dandelion Vegan Blog...and I LOVE IT!
It's The Stolen Child by William Butler Yeats (I do love Yeats) - more here (wikipedia)...
Thanks so much - it somehow reminds me of the Secret of Roan Inish
...what I gave...
...it's one of my moon photos with one of Emily Dickinson's Moon poems superimposed...I left it large for you too...
...these swaps are so much fun!...

At school I learnt a poem called 'Silver' by Walter De La Mare. It has been one of my favourites and gows beautifully with your moon photograph.
ReplyDeleteSilver
Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel, like a log,
With paws of silver sleeps the dog;
From their shadowy cote the white breasts peep
Of doves in silver feathered sleep
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
With silver claws, and silver eye;
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.
- Walter de la Mare
your poem and picture are beautiful!
ReplyDeletethe poem maureen shared is lovely, too!
i am having my kiddos learn some poetry as we do our school-work - there are poems i memorized in school that still stick with me. :)
Great choice of poems - they sounds beautiful read aloud.
ReplyDeleteI'm all into The Highwayman at the moment - we've been reading it at school. Lots of action which really appeals to boys! x
Glad you like the swaps! I really enjoyed the photo and poem you sent :)
