...they baled the hay while we were away at camp...we're so sorry we missed it...we usually sit and watch them for hours (well minutes anyway)'s mesmerizing...

...and it usually signifies the end of summer...we've got a trip South to visit family...and then right on the heels of starts back...

...are you ready for summer to be over?...what signifies the end of summer for you?...

  1. the end of summer will be when my tomato vines finally quit producing...we're not there yet!!

    love, k

  2. Red raspberry picking and the cicadas song changes...I'm not ready!

  3. there's already a subtle shift in the air . . .
and the greens go from vibrant to dusty and mellow . . .
    i'm not ready, either.

  4. Well, now that I am teaching I guess school means the end-o- summer for me.

  5. I am so ready for summer and this heat to be over! Summer offically ends for me when I start formal school lessons after Labor Day. xx

  6. We have a 'bank' or national holiday at the end of August called 'August Bank Holiday Monday'. For me that's the end of summer.

No matter how nice the weather after that the nights are cool.

Also, that is when the starlings start to sing a different song.
