...Grocery Haul...

...I went to two stores over the weekend that are not on my normal Saturday shopping route...
...first of all I went to the Indian food store...because I needed some Kala Namak...(black egg-y tasting salt)...

...I love going there...it's always a fun trip...it smells like curry...everyone is so nice...and they put all your groceries into neat cardboard boxes...
...I got three different kinds of savory oats...I'll let you know how they are soon...a big bag of 'Idli Rice'...it's just a regular short grain rice...and we use it for risotto...and sushi...you can't beat the price $4...and I'd finally used up all of the Himalayan Pink Salt that I'd gotten in West Virginia...it was in chunks...and came with a cute little shaver for grating it over your food...but that's not very practical for me...and I used the final chunk to season a pot of beans...I just chucked the whole thing into the pot...so...lesson learned...I got the regular granular Himalayan Pink Salt this time...

...I got Kala Namak...of course...99¢...and I went ahead and got 2 bags...it lasts a long time...and I can get it from Amazon...but I'd rather support this small shop...
...and finally...not food...but I got this BLACK Tooth Powder...I'd been reading about how wonderful it is...and I'm pretty skeptical...but we'll see...expect a post of me with black teeth soon...

...and then...as I was downtown...I went to Trader Joe's...for only the third time in my life...you can read about my first ever visit with my sweet sissie here...

...I only went there for one thing too...Vegan Chocolate Chips...
...but guess what else they had...Vegan Marshmallows...

...and Vegan Thai Sweet Chili Sauce...and if you've not tried the Chili Lime Seasoning Blend...you should...on potatoes...tofu...chick peas...it's so...so...good...
...and some vegan soap...I normally use Kirk's Castille...but I'm looking forward to trying out this Tea Tree Oil Soap...

...and that's about it...I got regular groceries too...

~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

  2. We used to have Indian shops in the town where we lived but not here in Chichester. They are excellent for spices and vegetarian foods. I like the pink salt, in granules!
