...Come to Omaha with me...

...right after my relaxing retreat we needed to do some more relaxing...

...so we took our annual family vacation - remember last year it was the flu vacation...

...but this year we took Scout out of school for a few days to visit Omaha, Nebraska - it's a big city with a spectacular zoo - and you know we need to feed our budding Marine Biologist with as many aquaria as possible...more on that later...

...Welcome to Nebraska - Omaha is a much larger city than I had imagined with an estimated population of 837,925...

...crossing the Missouri River...

...while waiting for our hotel room to be readied - we walked around downtown a bit - this area is called the Old Market - and it really doesn't feel like it's in a big city at all - very quaint - and we found this awesome park just a block from our hotel...

...there were these huge slides...

...so of course we had to try them out - but I was apparently too fast for the camera - HA! - as the only picture of me on the slide was this one of me at the end...

...Scout, however, tried them forwards...

...and backwards...such fun!...

...it was a lovely day and a lovely park...

...and we only had a short wait until my sister arrived...

  2. Oh I hope you show pictures of the zoo! I was there this summer and missed my opportunity to go by 1hr! So sad! I grew up going to that zoo! I wanted to badly to get back there and see how it had changed. Oh well, some other time. :)

  3. How lovely, to be with your sister.

Omaha, nearest I've been is Omaha Beach in Normandy - very moving!

Have super time - keep flu free!
