...although I should be working on the Christmas stockings...or my Karate Socks...when Christabel at Herbivore Knits put out the call for test knitters for her Ghibli hat...
...of course I had to sign up...
...so I went to Stuff-Mart - where I know they keep the Vanna's Choice acrylic - I was looking for a Granny Smith Apple green - unfortunately that yarn doesn't come in exactly that colour...but Red Heart does...(good ole Red Heart)...and the colour inspiration came from Anna at Finally Waking Up...
...then, of course, I cast on immediately...
...Scout was working at the Fall Senior Supper - so I helped the Boy Scouts in between bouts of knitting...so I took a goofy mirror picture of the ribbing/fit check...
...now, I'm about half-way done - wish me luck - the deadline is Saturday...

Looks great and I love the color!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! You have some beautiful ribbing there-wow! Peace, Angela
ReplyDeleteNeat hat, Teresa! I sure hope I can teach myself to knit this Winter. I like the type of stitching you do for the ribbing and the rest of the hat - neat textures. Yes, good ol' Red Heart -they have wonderful bright varegated yarns that I like to use, too. Good luck on gettin' 'er done! I know you will. Take care, from Casey Co KY.
ReplyDeleteLooking good, I knit one too!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be a test knitter. I always wanted to do that, like getting in on a secret ahead of time or a sneak preview of a movie. I love the color you chose. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteI love the color and ribbing--bet it will be a great hat:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat an honor to be asked:-)

ReplyDeleteI really like that color, too. And the pattern is very pretty. MOM

ReplyDeleteThe hat will look spiffy, good luck for finishing it on Saturday (as requested) although I don't think much luck will be needed.
Looking forward to seeing the result.
