I've sketched out my plans for my Easter Skirt...

...I took my Amity to Stuff Mart and matched some material...not exactly what I was looking for...but pretty close and for only $2 per yard...so YAY!...

...it's just a thin cotton sprigged with little purple (lavender) flowers...
...the plan is to recreate a tiered skirt that I got when I was in high school...it was sort of a khaki colour and I wore it everywhere for about 10 years I think...then it was finally so threadbare that we had to part ways...

...but the interesting thing about that skirt was that the tiers were different heights - with the middle one being taller...so that's what I'm going to try...
...it should be super easy and the only notions will be some elastic for the waist...if I don't have any...I may just use a drawstring...we'll see...
...so what are you planning to wear for Easter?...
How wonderful that not only do you sew, but you make your own patterns too. Sewing is something that isn't my strong suit. I have no idea what I am wearing for Easter. I need to start looking, but I am not much of a clothes shopper.
ReplyDeleteThat material is really cute! (and a great deal:) And it is going to be so cute with that awesome sweater! Maybe once I lose some more weight it won't take so long to crochet a sweater.
ReplyDeleteThat's good fabric for a tiered skirt - you are clever to make the pattern and all!
ReplyDeleteWill the cardi be ready?
If the weather is nice I shall wear a tank top I just knitted - a very kind lady in the US sent me the pattern!
That material looks very sweet. Perfect for Easter! I can wait to see the finest result. x
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! I love the fabric and your sweater looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteLooking good. I'm not sure what I'll be wearing. Whatever feels comfortable no doubt ;-)
ReplyDeleteOH I can't wait to see the finished product!!! I love the material you have chosen! Have a wonderful weekend :).
ReplyDeleteVery impressive! I love you are making your own pattern for the shirt and the material is really pretty. I'm all for going with $2 a yard material too! Since I don't go to church, I will probably have on something casual, hoping it's not maternity wear but it took me some time to fit back into my regular pants after Wee One so....sigh....
ReplyDeleteFor Easter, I want to learn how to make a tiered skirt! I've always meant to buy a pattern, but much like you, I prefer to make my own. Now I'm itchy to try it!
ReplyDelete@TraceyThanks Tracey! I just had this idea and I hope it all works out...
ReplyDelete@Nathan and AimeeThanks Aimee!
ReplyDelete@MaureenThanks Maureen, I'm hoping that the cardi will be ready - I finished the back last night at Karate and hopefully will block it today...

ReplyDelete@IndianaloriThanks Lori! I wish you could just pop over here and we could work on it together! Best wishes with your skirt too!
ReplyDeleteOh my I haven't even thought about it. I remember planning for months what I would wear for Easter when I was a little girl.
ReplyDeleteThe skirt looks like it is going to be great!
@angThanks Angela! I was fondly recalling Easter outfits the other day...my Mom used to make pretty dresses for my sister and me...we usually matched...sweet!
