...the lighthouse...and more Folly Beach...

...we had a storm overnight...and in the morning all of the windows were steamed...
...but the day wound up being gorgeous...and we decided to head north to the tip of the island to see the lighthouse...the path was pretty crowded...
...but once we got to the end of the path...there was no one around...
...and we had a gorgeous view of the lighthouse...it's actually the Morris Island Lighthouse...and it has a long and interesting history...wiki...
...my peeps on the deserted point...
...more deserted point...
...but another storm blew over...without storming really...and we headed back across the dunes...
...to our little stretch of the beach...
...which was mostly deserted too...
...just a few late afternoon strollers...
...it was windy...but we set up our chairs and umbrella anyway...
...and Scout scans the still storming skies...

~Have a lovely day!

  2. What a fascinating story of the lighthouse. Interesting to see how it changed shape over the years and was launched into the sea! Only a hundred years ago it was firmly on land, never underestimate the power of water!

  3. Sometimes, even those armed with the very best bait come up empty after a day of fishing. If you didn’t manage to catch your own dinner, it’s no problem!

Just swing by Three Fishermen on North Cleveland Avenue in North Fort Myers, to try some of our fresh local seafood, cooked to order, with a special local catch of the day every day. Here, you’ll find waterfront with a relaxed atmosphere, where lunch and dinner are always a fun adventure. If you’ve got any questions and want a to manage a tour, click Saltwater tours or visit our website for more information and to peruse a tour.
