...1.10...Dinner and a movie...

...first I made some red slaw...I thought this article was interesting...apparently...it's a North Carolina thing...the recipe in my church cookbook does not use ketchup though...but canned tomatoes...
...then I opened some tempeh...
...and simmered it for 10 minutes on each side...to remove the bitterness...I've always done this...so I don't know how bitter it is without this pre-cook...
...I made a quick little side dish using some leftover pumpkin instead of sweet potatoes...I was going to have the oven on anyway for the tempeh BBQ...
...I cut the tempeh into cubes and just baked it slathered in BBQ sauce...
...and sauteed some spinach for another side...
...it was delicious!...

...and the movie was my choice...and I chose Cross Creek...it's a movie about Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings...and I realized not very far into the movie that I'd seen it before...many years ago...but I didn't let on...haha...I enjoyed it...

...what have you been watching lately?...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  2. Trying to finish "The Crown".
About the tempeh... they are all pretty different. Some have a bit of bitterness, but some have not at all. So i just stopped boiling it first.
Funny because i am preparing some at the moment, to garnish a beetroot salad as croutons.
