...Come shopping with me...the Omaha Old Market...

...Karen, Scout and I did some early morning shopping right after breakfast...

...we found a rare book store...so I'm on the floor going through piles of books - it was pretty well organized...guess what book I bought...that's right The Book of Tofu - I had a copy years ago - now lost...so I was thrilled to replace it...

...guess what book Karen bought...that's right - Brideshead Revisited - on my recommendation based on the copy that sweet Maureen sent me from England...

...and we saw a mounted policeman on our way back to the hotel...

  2. I love finding cozy stores like that. It makes purchases so meaningful.
I recently into a used bookstore and was horrified by the prices. Amazon has really spoiled me. Paying just a little bit more gets you a new book..shipped to your door. I am hoping the prices in the used bookstores else where are not as high as the store I was in.

  4. And it was about a year ago!

Don't you just love that small surge of excitement when you spot a book you've had in the past and had almost forgotten about?

We have a triffic book shop here, Kim's Books. I have to be strong and keep away!

The police horses in London can sneak up behind you and snort, so making you jump. I asked the police officer how such a big creature can do that. He said they hace special rubber tipped nails on their shoes.

But, I also think they are sneaky!

Oh, I love the Old Market. We used to go there when I was a kid and we visited family in Council Bluffs, IA. The book store isn't The Antiquarian is it? That's probably long gone...

  8. Brideshead Revisited is on my to be read pile. For some reason it seems like a good winter read. I am looking forward to it. I could spend days in a bookstore :)
