...the end of Band Camp...

...they do Band Camp a little bit differently here than they did in WV...
...they don't do a sleep-away camp...
...instead they meet for two weeks of intensive practice at the school from 8 in the morning 'til 8 at night...it's a rough couple of weeks...

...and it ended with a show last night...so that part is the same...all the parents come out with lawn chairs and video cameras for a preview of the show...I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it soon...the theme is FIRE...and all of the songs have to do with firefighters or fire...and they've even bought special new uniforms that look like a firefighters uniform...
...this is the rookie initiation...all the new kids (Scout included) got blindfolded and led around the field...a fun little rite of passage...

...one of the great things about band is that just by being a member you make fast friends and you 'belong'...so important in a new school...
...the end of Band Camp huddle...
...and a cute Coke in the fridge...or pop if you're from ND...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  3. I am so impressed by the school bands in America. This is the third band I have seen on your blog and they have all been very good. We have nothing like this which is such a shame.
