...we came home from Mom's on Saturday...and I finished up the last section of the sedum weeding...
...I had been weeding the whole row beside the driveway at once...but it takes a couple of hours to do it that way...so I just did a couple of feet each day and it wasn't so bad...
...the hibiscus is coming back...
...we went to the farmer's market...
...and got SO MUCH veg...
...an heirloom tomato...
...and a couple of regular ones...
...a bag of new potatoes...
...and a bag of Vidalia onions...
...and beets...
...several of the little pickling cucumbers...I'm not pickling them...they're just my favorite...
...a quart of strawberries...oh no...some have gone missing...I wonder what could have happened to them...(I ate them...haha)...
...some white sweet potatoes...they're really hard to find here...
...summer squash...
...a dozen ears of corn...
...a big local cabbage...I need to make another run of sauerkraut...
...2 carrots...we only got two because they are HUGE...
...I packed everything up in my saved cereal bags...and crammed it into the fridge...
...Mom had sent some Wandering Jew plants that she had rooted back with me...and I stuck them into the hanging basket that she'd given us last year...I'd already showed you that the Mandevilla had come back...but one of the little Coleus has come back as well...
...so...about 2 PM we headed out to get the regular groceries...
...we didn't need a lot and it's all just normal stuff...
...but I did finde a couple of new Poppies...Classic Cola and Orange Cream...can't wait to try those...
...and then in between downpours we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant...
...for a delicious Mother's Day dinner...
...and this was the weekend that the Postal Service does their food drive...it's exactly like Scouting for Food...and you just put your bag of groceries on your mailbox and the mailman picks it up...I think it created a lot more work for them than usual...and they delivered the mail at about 8:30 PM...I had put an extra bag over the top to protect the grocery bag from the rain...
~Wishing you a lovely start to your week!

ReplyDeleteThat was a lot of veg!! Looks wonderful. Live, K
ReplyDeleteSo much beautiful produce. I love the way the postal workers pick up for the food drive. Very convenient though it does make extra work for them. I'm happy that you found a way to comment on blog posts. It sure is annoying when we aren't able to blog as per usual.
