...I got the Jayne Cobb hat all packed up...and printed out a bunch of Firefly logo labels and the address of the Spaceport where Jayne received the hat...it was a really fun little project...
...in other 'making' news...
...I've had a couple of oversized shirts in the WIP basket for a while and I wanted to get the patriotic one downsized before the fourth...and I do this often enough that I thought I really should have a pattern...so I laid out a shirt that fits me well...and put a piece of cling film over it...
...and traced the outline of the seam...with a notch for the shoulder seam at the top as it's not quite centered...
...and then I transferred it to some sturdy paper...
...cut it out and added some instructions...
...and did the same for the body...
...the front neckline is unimportant...as the oversized shirts will probably be different from this scoop neck one...
...and transferred that piece to paper as well...
...and added the directions...
...because I wanted to downsize this xxl tank that I'd gotten for free...you can kind of see where I scrubbed out a coffee stain right in the center front...of the stars and the first white stripe...it looks a little bit 'worn' there...but that's why it was free...
...using the pattern for the first time...
...since this one is sleeveless I'm not changing that cutout...
...I think it will be super cute over a pair of white shorts or jeans...
...and I've had this size Large t-shirt in the stash for quite a while...I mean...like since North Dakota...
...but because it's only size L...the pattern goes into the sleeve area just a bit...
...I'm going with it anyway...as it will be under the arm...
...the downsized Tee...less boxy...and cuter...
...and I got to use my little double needle to stich a new hem...
...and this is the area under the arm...it sort of looks like an 'intentional' little gusset...right?...
...what's in your workbasket this week?...I have big plans to send a Christmas in July package up to Alaska...so I'm going to be really busy...
~Have a lovely day!
