...W.I.P. on Friday...

...first of all...let me say a heartfelt thank you for all your kinds words and thoughts...I am really touched by your kindness...

...and I'm much better...so much better...
...that I managed to knit another little red hat...so that's 10 done...I may still crank out a few more before the deadline...they want to start giving them out February 1st...to each baby born in February...

...I've been back to the doctor and although she thinks I've got another week or two with some pain...it has diminished so much that that's not that bleak a prognosis...

...and I've been so well cared for by the Man...of course...but we've had casseroles dropped off...and lots of texts and phone calls and emails...

...so I've been getting situated in the recliner...laptop...phone and kindle close by...and knitting at the ready...but really I've mostly just been listening...my dear friend Maureen suggested audiobooks on YouTube...and that has been the most perfect pastime...as any little movement can cause quite a bit of discomfort...but I'm able to just lie still and listen...

...I took her suggestion and listened first to Samuel West reading 'The Day Of The Triffids'...Y'all know that I'm not a huge sci-fi fan...but this book was really good...very War of the Worlds...and it was as Maureen put it 'beautifully read'...

...so then I saw the Google Banner on Thursday was for Virginia Woolf and I clicked on it...and found another audiobook on YouTube The Voyage Out...her first novel...I'm just a couple of hours into this one...and it's not so beautifully read...kind of monotone...but...I'm just laying there with my eyes closed so it's fine...

...this really has been the perfect 'activity'...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I am so pleased you enjoyed The Day of the Triffids, an interesting idea. I've listened to The Voyage Out, as you say not so beautifully read! Lots of good Maigret stories as well.

  3. So glad to hear you are recovering well and that's you've been well looked after while you've been unable to do much. It's also nice that you did find something to do that was enjoyable and didn't cause pain.
