...2.13...Dinner and a Movie...

...I made a couple of spectacular side dishes...vegan scalloped potatoes...they are so easy and delicious...that I'm wondering why I don't make them more often...
....and some roasted Brussels sprouts...
...added some grilled tofu, Foreman grilled broccoli, carrots and a little bit of sauerkraut...

...and the movie was...well...we spent way too much time trying to decide...or to 'find' a new show to watch the series of...we browsed Britbox and watched the first 15 minutes or so of each of the following: Puppy Love
300 Years of French and Saunders
At Last the 1948 Show
The Sandbaggers
The Sally Lockhart Mysteries

...and I'm sorry to say we were totally unimpressed with any of them...so they won't be added to the watchlist...or maybe we'll give them a second chance...do you do that too?

...what have you been watching lately?...obviously...I need some inspiration...haha...

~Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I love scalloped potatoes. Yours look delicious. I haven't been watching anything lately. Just various You Tube videos and reading my new books from the library. Do you like classic movies? If so there is a classic movie channel on the Vimeo website and you can watch the movies for free. Here is another site on You Tube I came across. The young lady gives movie recommendations and she did one for feel good, quarantine movies.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bn65S8YxVo

  2. Puppy Love is a strange one, I would say stick with it. It can't seem to make up it's mind if it is serious or funny. It is mildly amusing and rather sad, but I was glad I stuck it out LOL.
We watched the new "documentary" Some Kind of Heaven, supposedly about The Villages in Florida. It was very depressing and was really about a sad, lonely widow, a homeless 81 year old grifter, and a long time married couple dealing with the fallout of the husbands drug habit. Really these people could live anywhere in the US they just happen to live at The Villages. A somewhat misleading documentary in my opinion because it wasn't really about The Villages. I would say don't waste your money renting it.
I made a Forks Over Knives recipe for dinner last night, Irish Cabbage and Bean Soup, it had fennel seed in it which made it totally amazing, I have plenty left over for another bowl today and will pop a few more servings in the freezer for another day. Then had vegan nice cream for desert, we make it with frozen bananas, cocoa powder, pb2 powder, a bit of cinnamon and a bit of vanilla powder - it is truly a decadent tasty nice cream.

    Have a good Sunday,

    Bean
