...we sure saw a lot of interesting plants here in what we consider to be wintertime..
...these little lizards were skittering along all the boardwalks and sidewalks in the sunshine...I guess the overwinter here just fine...
...the dunes are covered with these wild grasses...
...there were lots of little kildeers and sandpipers...
...we saw lots of birds on our walks....and one day a man and his daugther were trying to feed the gulls...but they were quickly discouraged from this activity as they were basically attacked by a hoard of gulls and we felt sorry for them...
...there were lots of wild flowers blooming too...
...this is a daisy like chamomile...
...and we saw black eyed susans too...
...palms of lots of different varieties were everywhere...
...we always see these wildflowers at the beach...I think they're called gillardia (sp?)...and they're native to America...
...we saw lots of camillias blooming...orange and pink and red...so pretty...
...and another pretty purple wildflower...
...and this bright pink one looks like it might be an oleander...
...there were lots of palms...everywhere...and there seemed to be a lot of different varieties...like this tall one outside our condo...with all of these purplish black seeds hanging from it...
...and this short sago palm...this is the female...and that's the 'flower' in the center...
...you can see the 'fruit' or seed pods under the feathery leaves...
...this is the male counterpart...
...this one is a little bit further along...
...and the seeds fall to the ground...
~Have a lovely day!
