...so we got up early...relatively speaking...as we had not been getting up early...haha...
...we borrowed the cart and loaded the truck...
...and pretty much...retraced our steps...
...driving back...the way we had come...past the Air Force base...
...past the bayou...
...and back into Georgia...
...stopping at McD's for an oatmeal breakfast again...and I was happy to see that the coffee came in Christmas cups...so festive...and fun...
...right back to the same hotel we'd stayed at on the way down...but instead of the rooftop restaurant (too chilly for that now)...we got an UberEats order from a Greek place...and...wow...it was so good...lentil soup...dolmas...rice pilaf...tabouli...pita and hummus and delicious olives...I'm hungry for it again now...haha...
...then...the next morning...we got up early (relatively...haha) again...and headed back up to the mountains...for another quick visit with Mom...
...we got there in time for dinner...
...and the Man made a delicious vegan swiss steak...
...and we had that with a pretty coleslaw...peas and Grandma's Mashed...
...we spent the night and so had a quick breakfast with Mom before we left for home...
...the only other interesting thing was that this great heron flew over while we were packing the truck to leave...
...so I snapped a few blurry photos of him...
...just flying in to rest a bit on Mom's pond...
...when we were growing up there...we were always so amazed when a heron would fly onto the pond...it was just unusal enough to be a nice memorable surprise...
~Have a lovely day!
