...this is Mom's recipe for Angel Biscuits...that she contributed to the Community Cookbook that we all love so much...
...they're quite easy to veganize...and by 'lard' Mom has always meant Crisco...haha...the only other sub is that I mix a little bit of vinegar into some soymilk to make the buttermilk...
...it makes a nice soft dough...
...and I used Mom's 'biscuit cutter'...actually a tin can with both ends cut out...to cut out the biscuits...
...they are so light and airy...they actually start to poof up before you even get them onto the pan...
...but first...you have to dip them...both sides into melted vegan butter...oh...I forgot to mention that sub too...
...and then on the pan...you give them each a little half fold...
...and they bake up to golden perfection...
...and we had them with an impromptu 'Thanksgiving' dinner...not on Thanksgiving Day...obvi...
...we made Nanny's sweet potatoes with potatoes Mom had grown in her garden...they're the absolute BEST!...
...and it was all so delicious...

That does look delicious!! I still haven't made our Thanksgiving meal - I may end up just having a Christmas meal and calling it good for the year! Love, K
