...for breakfast we had a besan based omelette (which I apparently did not photograph)...and some Griddler-ed hashbrowns...
...and we had a little bit of fruit on the side...
...the weekly shopping was done...
...and with our inability to find the green labeled organic Silk soymilk...we've switched to the WestSoy shelf stable variety...I actually like it better as it only has the two ingredients...water and soy...but the Man does not...
...and it's stawberry season here...the tent for the local strawberry producer is up on the highway near our house...so of course I stopped and got a bunch...unlike the grocery store variety - there's not a single bad or mushy one in the pack...
...but the BIG project for the weekend was refinishing the corian countertops...they'd gotten rather scuffed up with all of the painting and renovations...we don't cut directly on the countertops of course...but we do do things like open packages and paint cans that we probably shouldn't have done...so the Man gathered all his equipment...
...the first step, of course, was cleaning the countertops really well...
...we taped the edges where the sander might touch the tilework...and put down drop cloths...
...and the Man started sanding with 240...and a shop vacuum attached to the sander...I was surprised by how little dust there was...
...and then 400 grit sandpaper to take out all of the scratches...you can see the sanded and unsanded countertop here...
...so it's a project with a lot of steps...after the sanding there's a silver polish pad...and then the buffer and compound and finally a carnauba wax...
...so in one day he managed to get this side of the kitchen done...it was already dark when he finished...
...and it is so perfectly smooth...we'll have to be more careful with it from now on...
...I know the strawberries were technically 'food prep'...but here's a little bit more...we finally pulled up all of the greens from the winter garden...so this is a mix of the last of the collards and the mustard greens there...
...added some Green's Seasoning to the water...
...and got those cooking in the outdoor kitchen...
...some of the mustard greens had already flowered...it's been so hot and dry...and the yellow flowers are quite pretty so I popped them into a tiny vase in the windowsill...and we FINALLY got some rain...
...I cooked an instant pot full of kidney beans in the outdoor kitchen...
...and I cooked a block of tofu in the Griddler...just basting it with Not Chick'n broth...
...and one final little tiny project...I wanted a 'bumper' for the deck in the garage...so that I could pull the car all the way forward and actually touch it...giving me enough room at the back of the garage to get to my bicycle and all the tools and gardening 'stuff' without opening the door...and this pool noodle from Stuff-Mart works perfectly...
